Itinerary

Travel across the Great Dividing Range into a region known for its cooler climate, fertile countryside, ancient rainforest and charming country villages. Enjoy a morning coffee in Mareeba before continuing to the remarkable Curtain Fig Tree, one of the Tablelands’ most impressive natural landmarks.

Explore the historic village of Yungaburra and walk along Peterson Creek, keeping watch for platypus, tree kangaroos and other native wildlife, including bird watching.

Sightings cannot be guaranteed, but your private guide will help you search the most promising areas.

After a casual café lunch in Yungaburra, visit the volcanic crater lake of Lake Eacham, where you can enjoy a peaceful rainforest walk or an optional swim. The journey also includes Malanda Falls and its surrounding rainforest before returning to Port Douglas through the scenic Tablelands countryside.
